Some games the frame rate is tied to the speed of the game. Like in MK8 if you had 120fps the whole UI and gameplay would be 2x as fast compared to regular 60fps. Difference in fps can cause instability in MK8 multiplayer. So if you're the only one in the lobby with a 120fps modthen you'll likely run into connection issues.
