The Zweihander packs way more of a punch. The only aspect it lacks in is its speed. If you're somewhat experienced and want to have a go at an interesting, decent weapon with okay damage, go with the Lord Greatsword. If you really want to exceed in damage, however, then stick the Zweihander. Ascending it is definitely the best thing you can do.

Leveling a fire weapon is probably a waste of time, although you're already blown a slab on the claymore.I use the bastard sword over the claymore - better stagger and better strength scaling on heavy ashes. If you're comparing flamberge vs claymore with the intention to use bloodflame blade, I'd say use whichever one you like the moveset more. Claymore thrust is pretty nice, but the flamberge's innate bleed gives more options for different infusion combos. Just try both and see which one works best for you. e thru.
