Most often it is the striker hanging on the sear. Try not just swinging the take down lever but actually putting pressure on it past the 7 o'clock and holding that while you pull the slide forward and off. Probably got the wire spring jammed against the frame. Try taking out the chassis if possible, or even lift it up enough to free the jammed lever.

You may have to completely reassemble the fcu. Although for me the issue was the sear was blocking the take down lever from going back in. So you may have to push down on the top of it to move it out the way. The p365 fcu is definitely a pain in the ass compared to the 320. Edit: I just realized that can't be possible since their (OPs) takedown lever can be moved. That is connected to the bar and would be locked in place with the takedown bar. Unless it somehow got bent enough to have it be mobile, or worse, sheared.

I dont dare apply more pressure not knowing what has happened. It accepts a magazine. Trigger pull as usual. The P365 uses a potentially weaker (smaller diameter rod) take down lever, but with a stronger metal pin arrangement that goes through the entire rear of the FCU and sits against the width of the grip just ahead of the beaver tail. This can work for occasional removal of the FCU.
