The extra time just isn't worth it. Strongly recommend Perdition, Chamber of Starlight, and Aphelion's Rest if you're experienced and want to speed run.Also, if you didn't already know, it may be helpful to know that for nearly every lost sector, it is more efficient to run it on Legend than Master. The approximately 10% drop rate increase doesn't compensate for the increase in time it takes to run the sector on Master. I don't know the exact drop rates but if you haven't gotten it already 20 is the highest I've heard so far so probability should be on your side now. You might already be at a high enough level to take on the 1280 lost sectors, those have a higher chance at dropping exotics. Play nice. One more thing, one I wish I'd known to start with, completion of these legend/master lost sectors does not guarantee the drop, even if it is the appropriate daily armor type for the sector. It's still rng. I've heard it's weighted towards the season's stuff, but it most likely will not drop on your first or fifth completion.

Somewhere between 20-27%. RNG means you could get 5 exotics in a row or run 30+ without one, and on an infinite timescale it all evens out. There was someone that did a bunch of Lost Sector runs and it seems that Legend lost sectors have a 25% chance while Master lost sectors have a 33.33% chance. its bad whatever it is. Nope. As a general rule you can assume nothing has bad luck protection. It is basically only a thing for a few raid exotics. Nothing else. I like your idea or even just a higher drop rate with a rotating exotic pool so you don't get the same exotic over and over went through 100 or so legendary lost sector going flawless or super quick (3 - 5min) and finally got sun bracers out of the like 15 - 20 exotics I got.

Considering a legend lost sector can easily take less than 5 minutes, no I do not think the drop rate is low. GM nightfalls are pretty are pretty much guaranteed exotic drops and at this point the lake of shadows is extremely farmable.
