Aetherblade strike is one of the encounters where vindicator does amazing damage (by its own standards). It's due to large hitbox coupled with short burst phases on adds. Vindi isn't horrible. Like, sure you can bunker pretty hard with a few of the traits but when you want to actually do real damage, anything over 20kdps, it's very high intensity for very little back. For reference, power vindi with shiro upkeep skill, you can get more than 20k dps on s/s auto-attacking.Vindicator definitly needs the second dodge back. You have to dodge for actual damage & skill use, so you are more or less playing without dodges which nearly obliterates the fun in the gameplay and combat of gw2.Getting back a second dodge, you do have at least one "avoid"-dodge and one "rotation"-dodge.Quickness: firebrand, scrapper, harbinger, chronomancer, catalyst. Right now FB and harb are great at providing quickness and doing good dps at the same time. Both also can do lots of CC, provide fury, and provide some might.
