We always enjoy walking along the jetties to the end and looking for dolphins. Fishing off the jetty is very popular. The water here is often somewhat muddy due to proximity to the mouth of the Brazos River. That's one argument for going to the Surfside side (the other side of the jetties, which help shield from river outflow).
