There are way to many combinations of setups for there to be a default that works for everyone. I put some time in on my PMDG 737 specific profiles and she's handling as good as anything in MSFS.

Perhaps they just assume all you need is max reverse in the 737 while you need to modulate it quite carefully in the DC6 else risk damaging the engines.
Too dam sensitive. I would like to know the best setup with the most automatic settings as well as max. assistance so I can learn to play the sim decently and then adjust the sim settings later to a higher level of difficulty once I have a higher comfort level. Anyways, when in the NGX with sensitivity on full and null zone to zero, movement of the controls is not very smooth, especially when making fast adjustments. I get at least 30fps on average, so I do not believe that is an issue. All I can say, is that it feels more like flying a plane than FSX did (once you get settings dialed in for your yoke and the sim's sensitivity settings). I flew PMDG's 737 in FSX a lot. A LOT.

There is a way of selecting reverse idle and then using the lower detent of the thrust levers to ‘decrease thrust’ (i.e. apply full reverse thrust) - it then works just like the A320.
