Sadly Scott, the D105 transmission is not the machine's strongest point. It does not have a "serviceable unit" in the sense of changing the machines fluid and filter. Here is the Technical Service Manual link for the General Transmission RT400 Unit in your machine. It is the PDF on the top row right, under RT400 units.The LX280 looks intriguing but I'd want to look at it closely in person. Last year this tractor was built was 2005, but 300 hrs isn't much on this well built tractor. If you're apprehensive about an older tractor, I'd consider giving the X320 in Rockwall, TX, a close look. $2000 with only 63.5 hr. LX280.

The info on the 1991 year came from a John Deere website, but it was not specific on when in 1991 the change came. My tractor was built in 1991 and sold in 1992. There is not a bit of green on it that looks like the current JD green. Although not a perfect match, the color looks more like the older JD green. Back to top.

I'm assuming that you're going to replace the part. I would find a large fine thread nut and weld it over the center of the shaft. Then screw in a grade 5 or harder bolt. Just make sure the bolt diameter isn't larger than the shaft. No real problem areas that I can think of. The IVT transmission is a good transmission, but if it does give problems can be very expensive to repair/replace. New transmission can be in range of $25,000.00 plus labor. At $40 for the filter the easy change is crazy expensive for what it does. The easy change only changes out around 60% of the oil in the engine. 2 Quarts of JD oil and 1 filter costs about $15. You get a full oil change out. The easy change is a waste of money. project zomboid life and living The small X models, up to X300, have K46 or T40 (JD exclusive version of K46).
