I can't really remember the details, it's a very early quest (level 11 or something)

That's the only cave I can think of that's northeast-ish of Crookback Bog. Nope that Cave is at Grotto signpost. Is there a way to get witcher gear diagrams outside of the scavenger hunts? I went to Dragonslayer Grotto but didn't find the gauntlets diagram anywhere. The quest checkbox about "searching witcher george's grave" is the only one not complete, and it looks like I will never be able to complete it.
