Neither of them are sticky enough and will quickly drip out of the foam, leaving your filter dry and not filtering as well. You can use motor oil in a pinch but MMO has way too much solvent content to be used. On my Shadow, I had used filters for Hyundai and Honda cars (Fram, Purolator, Bosch in the 9688/3593a size). I have a TG3593a on my Goldwing now, but will be switching to a 7317 sized filter next change. The 3593a/9688 size has a bit to large of a diameter and is pushing against one of the coolant hoses a bit. The Fram Titanium or Ulra being 99% at 20 microns is number one in terms of high efficiency. I would run either Boss or Titanium on my car. The regular Purolator One is 10,000 miles at 99% plus at 20 micron for half the price of the Boss.
