So, I bought a A.R. pistol lower from Second Amendment Zone and got one of those SB Tactical Pistol braces. The Maxim Defense has braces licensed in conjunction with SB Tactical. The gap between the upper and lower receivers is too narrow for the tab of the Maglock to fit in. After every ten shots (thanks CA), you have to release the BCG, pop the kingpin, drop the mag, insert new mag, re-attach the upper, and cycle the BCG.
The Gen 4 is a tiny set screw holding the entire thing by friction (loctite is a must). That said, the Gen 4 set screw allows you to adjust width and angle if your lower is not quite perfect. Just shooting your gun will help you loosen up the tolerances so magazine release on bolt hold back is easy/reliable.

I have a kingpin and ar maglock. It does have BHO, but there is enough slop in the ar maglock that when in BHO it is easy for the sliver of metal on the ar maglock to not line up with the tiny crack between the upper and lower. Other than having to permanently modify the lower, the houge solution is clearly the best.

This here's the best possible setup for a maglock. With a little bit of filing of the detent, you can disengage the lower from the upper when the bolt is locked back or stuck and still drop the mag.
