There's many awesome super long term places to base up. The secret military bunker is basically all setup. Just bring fuel and seeds (and a couple solid weapons) The port area is where my current guy is setting up shop. Got a nifty little escape rope from the crane down onto the ship. I was looting near the military base and that thought that maybe I should go over there and see what's up (I had never been there).And even then there isn’t that much of that. There are many zombies dressed in military uniforms, but in the base there is no area with weapons. So in my opinion the loot there is not worth the amount of zombies. I am relatively new to the game and my longest run yet was ruined by having a desire to explore that base.Prison is a far better mega base. Good road connection and simply in all ways better. Close enough to guard the gas station too. More military places would be nice. Like closer to the cities to allow some civilians to be in there. My base is on a farm south of Rosewood, next to a lake and a fuel station. It's very close to the town and has everything you need. Also next to the secret base that doesn't appear on the online map.
