I went into debug mode looking and looked at several seeds to find a good one for my current game. Using this one right now: 1996611724. Pros: 2 of the AETNs are in close proximity. 2 cool steam vents that are close to one another. 2 gold volcanos. Cool slush geyser is near the cool steam vents. 3 oil reservoirs.

The build has steam vent as far right as it will go but you can move it one or two steps to the left as needed. Or you can flip it entirely. The power output of the build varies with the steam vent naturally but here I've just demonstrated the self-powered self-cooled version which only outputs 95C water.PS. be sure not to cool your water in the vent room. I always keep an eye to not to waste the cooling power of the cooling room to the water I don't need to cool. So the cooling room cools only steam. This way you don't need to build a huge steam killer room and spend lots of the precious ice in my set-up

This is a self-powered late-game cool steam vent tamer. It produces so much cooling that it can turn all the steam into ICE and have enough left over to liqu...

Steam is the Gas state of Water. It can be created by heating Water to 102.35 °C (vaporization point + 3 °C) or Polluted Water to 122.35 °C (vaporization point + 3 °C). Steam is denser than Oxygen or Natural Gas, but lighter than Sour Gas and Chlorine. Steam naturally comes out of the two types of Geysers, as either 110 °C or 500 °C. Cool Steam Vents slowly pours lukewarm steam at ...If the geyser has been analyzed, it should show how long it runs for, how frequently it vents gas, and how soon the next eruption is going to be. I'd recommend setting up a contained area, with a gas pump so that it can flow out, directly into gas tanks or a hydrogen generator.

Place some liquid on the floor-- 50 kg/tile or so-- to help move the heat from the Desalinator to the metal tile floor. Use a temp sensor to shut down the Desalinator before it overheats.Great video! But I the currently have a steam vent in my seed that outputs 3.2Kgs of steam at 500°. That's alot of heat. Right now, I have 2 problems: The central part is easilly reaching 250°, which leads to the steam turbine to not be 100% efficient. My system hasn't reached equilibrium, and I fear I might not be deleting enough heat right now.To cool down water you can use aquatuners. This devide decrease incoming liquid temperature by 14C and equivalent of that heat removed is spread around the aquatuner. So it doesn't remove heat, it just moves it from liquid to enviroment surrounding. You need to figure out a way to keep aquatuner from overheating.Yes, you can use it for water. You'll likely have to cool the water down some, to not overheat your base, but it's perfectly usable water. #1. That does not make any sense because you can have steam pressure of hundreds of kg/tile without any problems.I had to assume it was that due to the way the pipes coming out of the steam turbine were set up and due to the fact that the cool steam vent overpressurizes at 5kg. Also there's a second broken icon where a pipe should be.

The sieve will reset the temperature of the pwater down to 40 degrees no matter how much heat it took from cooling the steam. If you want to turn a cool steam vent output into cool (<20°C) Oxygen, here is what I quickly put together : Steam comes out 110°C, gets heated by AT, then turned …Steam cool down instanly to prevent over pressure. If water to feed electrolyzer the pipe shouldn't touch the bottom liquid tiles, kept water around 80C is good. Make it 4x6 or smaller room is better, remove all metal tiles, and one temp shift plate under geyser is enough. A second AT runs a line of chilled water (20C) in the room with my electrolyzer, cooling the O2 I am pumping into my base. I use one Steam Turbine to cool both ATs. I use this approach because it helps me pull much more water out of the steam vent than the natural way I mention above.

For example a 5 kg steam tile has a heat capacity of 5 x 4.179 = ~21 (per degree), while a Gold Automation Bridge has a heat capacity of 5 x 0.129 / 5 = 0.129 (per degree), so even a simple fairly low pressure steam tile has much higher heat capacity than an automation bridge, and you'll get better performance out of a material with higher heat ...Your aquatuner should sit in the steam box below the turbine. You need a liquid that will tranfer its heat to the steam - run that liquid through the aquatuner. Also use a heat transfer tile or two to spread the heat from the aquatuner around the steam box. Most of your equipment will overheat at 75 or 125 degrees.Originally posted by CloudSeeker: You can use a cooling loop, but that is also power expensive. A condenser design for a Cool Steam Vent needs 120 W per kg of steam to cool down to water, plus another 24W of power to pump it. (10% duty cycle on an AquaTuner + Liquid Pump.) A condenser design for a (hot) Steam Vent would need 3+ kW per kg of ...AT first, I just let it cool into water naturally, then pipe in the hot water directly into electrolyzers. It's much easier to cool the oxygen than the water. Later on I add a cooling loop to cool the oxygen, which also chills a cold box that I used to cool the steam into water. EDIT: Never mind, I had a little water on the tile on the neutronium. That boiled and it overpressured. Going to drop some petroleum there and see what happens! Now I was quite prepared for this cool steam vent to overpressure when I boiled all the water in the lower section with an aquatuner, bu...

You will just need an atmosphere sensor connected to a liquid shut off valve connected to the steam turbines liquid output (to siphon off excess water) it's simple and you can use the Aqua tuner for what ever you want ( cool your base or even the water that has been siphoned off the steam turbine.) the Aqua tuners job is to keep enough heat in t...The liquid vent activates when the steam pressure goes below 1500, so when the steam vent is inactive there's still some steam for cooling. A couple issues: I had to "prime" the water cooling loop with hot water in order to heat the steam and activate the steam engine, and it might need to be primed again after the vent is dormant.Oxygen Not Included - Language PacksAbout the GameIn the space-colony simulation game Oxygen Not Included you’ll find that scarcities of oxygen, warmth and sustenance are constant threats to your colony's survival. You should probably check again the output of the cool steal vent ! You can usually get an average output of around 2kg/s of cold water out of it. The challenge is usually to have the steam vent not overpresurise (at 5kg/cell) You can do that with a thermal aquatuner cycling water in the chamber at a target temp of around 80°C They are not ...178 Posted January 25, 2019 My guess is if the gassed around the one vent reach over 5kg the vent will overpressure. Just to clarify since you are new (and so might be other readers): "Dormant" lasts for a few dozen cycles (lots of variance). In fact, you don't need to cool water in early game, mostly for Electrolyser which fix the temperature at a minimum at 65°C, more if the water is hotter. Secondly, it's easier to cool oxygen (1Kg / sec) than the water (10 Kg). So, you need 6 to 8 wheezwort for your oxygen pipes, and same to convert steam to water.

DimaB77 • 2 yr. ago. In my last article (getting water), I studied the volume of each volcano's eruption. On average, a vent of hot steam erupts 2.2kg/sec of steam. Every turbine port absorbs 400gr/sec steam x 7 = 2.8kg/sec steam + 360kg what will fit in the room. That's a lot more than the volcano is erupting. So the purposal of this setup is : The right side tempshift are in igneous rock, to tank the heat generated. It does, but hot oxygen is easier to cool down than the water, plus some of the heat is usually burned in hydrogen generators if self powered electrolyzer setup is used. This is by no means long term setup, but enough to get early SPOM going. You'll need proper cooling after that anyways. 3.
