I just finished 99 mining today, all at amethyst starting at 92. I personally did every single amethyst into dart tips. With the bowfa meta, I don't think there is any use for amethyst arrows until you get a tbow. At volcanic mine and Zalcano, crystal pick is a very significant buff over dragon and very worth using.
