Yea DSC is probably one of the hardest majors at ucsd imo. Pretty similiar to CS curriculum until you hit upper divs, then it starts to dive deeper into statistics, ML, etc. DSC 20, 30, and 80 are considered the weeder classes and I struggled through all of them but you can get through it with enough perseverance.CSE Majors and Other Graduate Students with Priority. I'm currently a CS major at a community college. I enjoy learning CS but I've realized that CS is a very competitive major to transfer with. For instance, UCLA took 1.2% of CS transfer applicants in 2013. On the other hand, UCLA took 55% of Applied Math transfer applicants in 2013.
