Just got the 507 and RMR out. The 507 is very bright in manual mode. If the 507 has 10 level of brightness the RMR goes to 11 - just a bit brighter. The only time the extra brightness would be an advantage is shooting at a white target in direct sunlight.

Yes, if you refer to your instruction manual it will provide a way to turn the "Shake Awake" feature off. This is the generic instructions provided by Holosun: 1) Press and hold the “+” button for 10 seconds to enter time adjustment mode. There are 4 options: 10 min, 1h, 12h or the sleep mode is disabled.I think the 503/403 is a better clone of the Aimpoint micro than the hs510 is a clone of the eotech. If using this rifle for self defense is ever going to be a possibility, I would choose the 503/403.
