I have held a VP9 at DSI and LOVED IT how it felt, but not a P30. Anyone own a P30 in 9mm? Like it? Ever compare it to a VP9?The felt recoil is really negligible. But the P30L has less felt recoil than my VP9. But this is all very subjective. Hope this helps. As others have said, barrell length does make a difference. But if I recall correctly (I can check in a minute) the P30L and the VP9 are pretty damn similar in the length department. The P30 comes with two 15-round magazines, but also accepts 17-round mags from the VP9. The HK VP9 is a full-sized striker-fired pistol made by Heckler & Koch. Often compared to the Glock, the VP9 actually gives the more common polymer pistol a run for its money. In fact, if you’ve used a Glock and felt underwhelmed, you’ll want to get your hands on a VP9. This modern European firearm would be great at the range, for self ...Nevertheless, it's probably the best carry trigger you can engineer for a hammer-fired handgun, either V1 or V4.1. V3 would be my pick for any HK that I intend as a range gun, but I'm not a fan of DA/SA for carry. If you get the version with a thumb safety, you can carry it cocked-and-locked, if that appeals to you.Notes. Heckler & Koch P30. The P30 comes in other trigger options, not just DA/SA. The 40S&W model weighs 26.8 oz (slightly more than the 9mm model). Heckler & Koch P30SK. The P30SK comes in other trigger options, not just DA/SA.The VP9sk is a smaller version of the HK VP9 with an abbreviated 3.39″ barrel and 6.61″ overall length. The shorter barrel length reduces muzzle velocity and felt recoil. The P30 is slightly larger, coming in at 7.12 inches in overall length, 5.43 inches in overall height, and 1.37 inches across the widest point of the grip. The extra capacity and grip coverage is worth it. Both guns are extremely accurate, so you really can't loose getting the SK with an extended mag over the VP9. IF you do get the VP9 or the VP9SK, you'll probably want to look for the LE edition. It comes with the tritium night sights (don't need to charge them before using) and an extra pinky mag.

Jun 8, 2021 · This makes it a somewhat unique feature and the only other gun on the market. That’s I’m aware of minus the HK P30 on which the HK VP9 is based. I can’t really say that one is better than the other. The grip modules on the Sig P320 feel cheap. There’s no way around that but the HK P30 does not have the modularity that the Sig P320 has ...

There may be some advantages if that is the case. For example, in USPSA if you want to shoot production major (which I believe the P30L would be classified as) you would need to shoot the .40 caliber if you wanted to use factory ammo. If you were cool with shooting production minor, the 9mm is a better choice, I believe.

The only one that was a let-down was the HK VP9. It did not feel as high in quality as the P30 and other HK pistols. The right side slide lock lever for example, it's just a piece of stamped steel on the vp9, feels to be much more substantial on P-Series pistols. Same with some internals as well.Note the paddle-style mag release on HK's VP9. It's ambidextrous and very easy to use. Apr 22, 2021 · In this post, we will be comparing the HK P30 vs VP9. So you can see which will be the best firearm for you. The HK VP9 obviously gets a lot of its roots and design features from the P30, but there are many key differences between the two beyond their firing mechanisms. The P30 has a full size grip and compact slide/barrel. The P30 grip is fanatic for a full size duty gun, but too rough for conceal carry. The P2000 grip is smoother against the skin, better for IWB carry. I personally went with the P2000 because it's Glock 19 sized basically, tad thicker and heavier.Feb 11, 2021 · That all aside, both brands make great pistols. Hammer fired FNX and HK's USP and P30. Most recently, the hype is the FN 509 which I personally own. I've done the Apex reliability upgraded striker and the trigger, but I have to say, I kind of prefer the HK's VP9 trigger more as far as striker fire triggers go. Nevertheless, it's probably the best carry trigger you can engineer for a hammer-fired handgun, either V1 or V4.1. V3 would be my pick for any HK that I intend as a range gun, but I'm not a fan of DA/SA for carry. Both are excellent all around guns. The ergonomics of the guns is a key difference. The USP does better in bigger hands as it has a more "squared" shape to the grip. Both platforms are incredibly durable and reliable. I won't comment of differences in triggers since all my USPs are SA/DA and my P30L is LEM.

But Walther is mainly known for their current striker fired pistol lineup(P99, PPQ, PDP), and HK is known for their hammer fired P30 and USP, but also make a good striker fired VP9. Either that, or they were smart enough not to play a lowest bidder game.Which brings us to the subject of this "Battle Royale.". Yes, I'm aware that the upgraded recoil spring seems to have issues with lighter bullets. Still, there seems to be a lot to like about the gun. Then, I started looking at the P30, which is slightly smaller with a hammer and changeable grips.A VP9 is like $100 for a cut and coat at Jagerwerks during Black Friday whereas the P30L is around $500 to get cut.
