I think having 2-3 dermatology research experiences with 2-3 citations out of each of those would be more than sufficient to get you competitive for dermatology as an applicant without a research year. That would be 2-3 projects with a paper, a poster, and an abstract with each of them, so like a total of 6-9 citations related to dermatology.

Most programs require three. A small handful only require two. Several mention that you can submit up to four. At least one must be from a dermatologist. I don't believe I saw any program that said that all must be written by dermatologists.
