MSUCOM is an extremely well-regarded DO program, and you'd likely have more opportunities there than at a new MD school. If you get into a more reputable MD program its probably worth reweighing your options, but MSU has a great match list and Michigan is an extremely DO-friendly state if you plan on staying here!
