So I would recommend doing what I do. Keep your best gauss mini and keep all 2 mm EC you loot. When you have about 2K of ammo, take the weapon and ammo out of your stash (maybe equip batteries included) and have 30 minutes of fun with it. It's not a matter of which one is better. Each one has a different purpose. The plasma caster is good for regular, everyday use, and the the minigun should only be used for boss fights like the queen and colossal problem. The minigun just isn't practical for regular use.
