So I played about 100 hours of NSC2, and this is what I reckon of it. I had a friend of mine recommend NSC2 as an addition to one of my favorite mods; Gigastructural Engineering, since both mods have alot of overlapping compatibility. Reading the workshop page, it seemed like a pretty good mod, considering how popular it was.

Super easy research for early game, without having to find the building slots for it. Fully upgraded, it gives like +500 in each field of research, and that's with one slot used for Hyper-Entertainment Forums for the required amenities. Payback is quickly becoming one of my favourite origins.

Resource Consolidation is your best bet. It's not great for Driven Assimilators because cyborgs don't do well on machine worlds, but it's still your strongest option overall. Machines simply don't get very many origin selections, and the origins they do get are generally underwhelming.
