Gears for Xmaxx : r/Traxxas. I've been replacing thing on my xmaxx as they break. ESC went out and just bought Hobbywing ESC6 and 1100 motor. My boys and I run it hard with some jumps and bashing. Picked up all WFO mounts and brackets, but trying to decide on gear ratio. Seems like every video I watch it just someone trying something different.

Mar 11, 2023. #7. dint get you were running 8 cells the gear ratio is going to make esc and motor over heat. i dont run 8 cells.if you can id go up in spur teeth amount so you can get a 27 ish tooth spur in that and monitor esc/motor after less than a minute of run time.The tabs on each side of the servo have 2 holes each for 4 screws. You'll use 1 hole on each side to mount it on the Xmaxx but the other 2 holes raise up a little too high for the chassis to slide back in. So I cut that part off with a Dremel and then the chassis will slide on. Gear mesh should be checked and adjusted anytime a gear is replaced. To set the gear mesh in an electric model, cut a narrow strip of notebook paper and run it into the gear mesh. Loosen the motor screws and slide the motor and pinion gear into the spur gear. Retighten the motor screws and then remove the strip of paper.
